A T-shirt Dress…For Winter

For those of you who aren’t familiar with my blog, you probably don’t understand my obsession with summer t-shirt dresses. Let’s just say that I own too many, but I wear them often. I’ve even passed one down to my twelve-year-old daughter, who hates all dresses, but loves t-shirts. And although she’s not as psyched about the dress as I am, I’ve at least introduced her to the concept that dresses can be just as comfortable as her pajamas (which, by the way, are oversized t-shirts).

As I’ve mentioned in a previous fashion post, Florida winters are pretty much non-existent. But that doesn’t necessarily stop me from purchasing some winter-ish garb for the colder days. However, when it comes to winter fashion, I am a bit more selective, simply because I have fewer days to make use out of each piece of clothing.

So, when I saw this dress, I knew I had to add it to my closet.

I have to admit that I was hesitant to order when I learned that Rotita garments ship from China. Having ordered items from China before, I’ve found that fit is not comparable to American sizes and shipping can take up to a month. But not to worry-this dress from Rotita is true to size, and I received my package in under two weeks!

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the fit is baggy and comfortable, just like my favorite t-shirt dress! It hangs, but in a good way. And the material of this dress is quilt-like, making me feel like I am wrapped up in a blanket. I especially love the cowl neck! And for the low price of $25.91 (plus free shipping), it’s hard to pass this dress up. My only trouble is deciding which shoe to wear with it (you can help me by voting below)!

So, if you are looking for a slouchy winter dress that can be dressed up (as in pictures above) or dressed down (as in the stock photo, worn as a tunic over jeans), I would highly recommend this one. Click here to purchase one for yourself in black, red or gray.

Vote below for the look you like best- bootie, heel or boot!

Happy shopping!

  1. Very nice post and I love that black dress! It literally has the best of both worlds for layering, dressing up AND can we just appreciate that built in scowl. You are #winning girlfriend lol.

I love the look with the booties since I am short and love to show a little bit of leg. lol I TOO love t-shirt dresses however depending on one’s body some t-shirt dresses just hug my body better than others. So I guess my question for you is…How do you find your perfect t-shirt dress?

    1. Thank you Doris! I love booties with dresses. However, it’s not easy to pull off here in Florida, mostly because it’s too hot to wear anything other than sandals and flip-flops. 🙂

I completely agree with you that t-shirt dresses can be tricky when it comes to fit. Being that I’m only 5’1″, it’s always important for me to consider the length. After months of searching various stores, I found my perfect t-shirt dress at Target. The Target dress doesn’t cling, which is nice for days where you want your clothes to be a little loose. I also found a great t-shirt dress at Banana Republic, but it hugs my waistline more than the Target dress, which somehow makes it more dressy.

      Thanks for your comment! 🙂
