I am normally skeptical about using moisturizers because a greasy T-zone isn’t a good look for me. So even though the Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Cream is oil-free, I was still worried about using it. And again, because I am a skeptic, I generally don’t use a moisturizer at all. I am telling you this because, as a moisturizer virgin, I don’t have anything to compare this product with. However, I think this is a really great deal based on what I have seen on the market (price-wise).
I decided to take the plunge and put this on after my shower in the morning. Although the product says it is a gel, it is very light (unlike hair gel) and is not sticky. It feels cool when first applied, and it absorbs very quickly. After putting it on, my skin felt clean, if that makes sense. I didn’t put this on underneath any make-up, but I would definitely like to try the next time I use this.
I went about my day and even squeezed in a 5K run, and my skin felt great! No oil build-up in the T-zone and my face still felt fresh! Now, just to let you know, I have combination skin (oily T-zone and normal everywhere else), and I also live in Florida where, even in February, it can be hot and humid. Like I said earlier, I’m no expert when it comes to moisturizer, so I’m not sure how this would work on other skin types. However, based on my initial experience, I think I will be making this a part of my normal routine.
Just an FYI-other reviews I’ve read say that it is also great for acne prone skin.
Amazon.com sells Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Cream for roughly $7.
